OMET Flexo for Future: the future of printing takes shape at the Innovation Park
Technologies in action, over 150 international participants, and a concrete discussion on the evolution of narrow-web. From live demos on KFlex K6 and iFLEX 440 to networking moments on Lake Como, the event combined content and relationships.
The open house “Flexo for Future – Shaping what’s next, together”, organized by OMET at the Innovation Park in Molteno (LC), concluded with strong and qualified participation, welcoming over 150 industry professionals from around the world, including extra-European markets.
The event proved to be a key technical and strategic platform for the narrow-web market, at a time when production flexibility, technology integration, and workflow speed are becoming increasingly central in printers’ decision-making processes.
The two-day event opened on April 15 with a “Lake Experience” on the Lecco branch of Lake Como: a boat tour followed by a lakeside dinner in a unique setting. This informal environment provided an initial networking opportunity, encouraging direct interaction among guests, partners, and the OMET team.
The following day, at the Innovation Park, Antonio Bartesaghi, CEO of OMET, and Marco Calcagni, Sales & Marketing Director, welcomed participants and introduced the key themes of the day, entirely focused on the concrete evolution of flexographic printing.
At the heart of the live demonstrations were the new KFlex K6 and the first iFLEX in a 440 mm width.
The iFLEX represents a significant evolution in the narrow-web flexo press concept: designed to ensure high performance through fast and intuitive operations, it stands out for its compact design, low energy consumption, and exclusive smart devices that simplify both operation and maintenance.
The iFLEX demo was particularly appreciated for the complexity of the printed job and for demonstrating high competitiveness even on short runs, offering tangible proof of the platform’s operational advantages.
Great attention was also given to the KFlex K6, the latest platform developed by OMET, designed to redefine the printing process through a high level of automation, from start-up to job changeover. At its core is the new flexo unit featuring Direct Drive technology and automatic pressure setting.
Its modular design allows the integration of multiple printing and converting technologies in line, enabling the production of a finished product in a single pass. The SWITCH system ensures maximum configuration flexibility through the interchangeability of printing and converting units. Also on display was the new interchangeable offset unit, designed to combine print quality with operational efficiency. Completing the technological setup, the Multivision+ system for automatic register control ensures full repeatability without operator intervention and a significant reduction in waste.
The KFlex K6 demo featured two complete and rapid job changeovers for the production of three different jobs on different substrates, supported by OMET Digital Solutions. Among other features, these allow automatic loading of print recipes through a simple QR code scan, significantly speeding up and simplifying job setup operations.
The day concluded with a buffet lunch and an extended networking session, once again confirming the Innovation Park as a hub for meeting, exchange, and shared development between OMET and the market.
