OMET and Jet Technologies: over 25 years of partnership in Asia-Pacific
Jet Technologies Vietnam’s move to a new office and warehouse facility in Ho Chi Minh City offers the opportunity to look back at a partnership with OMET that has grown steadily for more than 25 years across the Asia-Pacific region.
Founded in 1980, Jet Technologies has progressively expanded its presence across Asia-Pacific. Its relationship with OMET dates back to the late 1990s, supported from the outset by shared Italian roots and by the close relationship between the two entrepreneurial families. The cooperation first developed in the tissue sector before expanding into label and packaging printing.
From the early days, the partnership was built through joint customer visits, technical workshops, training activities and continuous exchange between the two teams. Over time, Jet Technologies has supported the introduction of numerous OMET presses across the region, while developing strong technical and application expertise around the needs of local converters.
As Jet Technologies expanded its regional footprint, the cooperation with OMET also broadened. From its strong base in Indonesia, the partnership gradually extended to Vietnam, Singapore and Malaysia, combining OMET’s technological expertise with Jet Technologies’ direct knowledge of local markets and customers.
In recent years, this development has accelerated significantly. Thanks also to the work of Roberto Speri, Export Sales Manager SEA at OMET, the number of OMET presses installed in both Indonesia and Vietnam has grown considerably, further consolidating the company’s presence in two of the most dynamic markets in Southeast Asia.
A particularly significant example of this cooperation is Indolabel, one of Indonesia’s leading label converters. The Jakarta-based company began its transition from traditional letterpress to flexographic printing with an OMET iFlex 370 and progressively expanded its fleet to six OMET iFlex presses. Its latest investment, an iFlex 440, further increased production capacity and application possibilities. The repeated investments reflect not only Indolabel’s confidence in OMET technology, but also the importance of Jet Technologies’ local technical and service support throughout the customer’s growth journey.
For Jet Technologies, this close connection between technology and local support remains one of the key strengths of the partnership.
“Our cooperation with OMET has grown over more than 25 years on the basis of mutual trust and a shared commitment to our customers,” says Jack Malki, Director of Jet Technologies. “Combining our local market knowledge with OMET’s technological expertise allows us to support customers in a practical and consistent way throughout the life of their investment.”
More than 25 years after it began, the partnership between OMET and Jet Technologies continues to evolve alongside the markets of the region, supported by long-term relationships, technical expertise and a shared commitment to customer development.
