The Future Starts Today: strong attendance at the OMET Innovation Park event on PPWR and recycling

More than 100 professionals from Italian printing companies gathered at OMET Innovation Park for an event organized by Avery Dennison in collaboration with OMET, focusing on the evolving regulatory framework for sustainable packaging. A day of insights, discussion and practical demonstrations to better understand the impact of the new European regulations.

On March 5, 2026, the OMET Innovation Park in Molteno (Italy) hosted “The Future Starts Today – PPWR and Recycling: navigating the new rules of sustainable packaging”, a strategic industry event organized by Avery Dennison in collaboration with OMET, dedicated to the regulatory and technological evolution of sustainable packaging.

The event welcomed more than 100 participants from Italian printing companies, confirming the strong interest of the industry in topics such as sustainability, recycling, and the implications of the new European regulations for the packaging market.

The morning session focused on institutional perspectives and regulatory scenarios, with expert speakers providing an in-depth overview of the Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation (PPWR), recycling processes, and national directives.

The presentations were followed by a round table discussion and Q&A session, moderated by Emilie Bartolini, Government Affairs Manager EMENA at Avery Dennison. The session encouraged an open dialogue between experts and participants, addressing technical challenges and regulatory requirements that companies will need to navigate in the near future.

In the afternoon, the program continued with the session “PPWR in Action”, where participants had the opportunity to see practical recycling demonstrations and real applications of Avery Dennison’s sustainable solutions, showcased on state-of-the-art OMET printing presses at the Innovation Park.

The event highlighted the importance of collaboration between industry players, institutions and technology providers in fostering greater awareness of sustainability challenges and supporting the transition towards more circular packaging solutions.
