For us, welfare is a structural investment, part of the way we understand business. Investing in people means strengthening the company’s ability to grow in a solid and sustainable way, creating value both for those who work with us and for the local community.”

THE KEY INITIATIVES BEHIND OMET’S WELFARE RECOGNITION

The recognition received by OMET is based on a structured and constantly evolving corporate welfare system, developed through continuous listening to employees via internal surveys and regular opportunities for discussion and feedback.

Among the most significant initiatives is the opening, in 2026, of the company’s internal gym, equipped with professional facilities and supported by qualified trainers. The gym has been designed as a tool to promote prevention, physical well-being and social interaction among employees.

The welfare system also includes flexible working measures and on-site services supporting work-life balance, such as legal and tax consultancy, corporate agreements, time-saving services (including laundry services, tyre changes and personal parcel management), as well as fringe benefit and welfare credit platforms.

Particular attention is also dedicated to training initiatives addressing personal and family-related topics, including financial education, stress management, cybersecurity and psychological well-being. Healthcare prevention programmes and screening initiatives are currently being developed.

The welfare programme is further strengthened by scholarships for employees’ children, internship opportunities and collaborations with schools and universities, as well as initiatives aimed at engaging with the local community, including educational projects that have involved hundreds of students through company visits and career guidance activities.

INSTITUTIONAL SPEECHES

Welcoming to the event, Maria Elisabetta Alberti Casellati, Minister for Institutional Reforms and Regulatory Simplification, highlighted that welfare should not be considered a cost, but rather an investment. She emphasised that human capital is companies’ most valuable asset and that investing in people generates trust, competitiveness and improved performance. She also noted that young people are increasingly choosing companies able to offer a genuine life project, rather than simply a salary, and that welfare generates benefits extending beyond the company itself, supporting education, health, quality of life and social cohesion.

Adolfo Urso, Minister of Enterprises and Made in Italy, underlined the value of Made in Italy as a production model based on people, quality and innovation, stressing that the challenges posed by technological transformation and artificial intelligence must be addressed while keeping human capital at the centre.

THE WELFARE INDEX PMI RESEARCH

During the event, the results of the Welfare Index PMI statistical research were presented. The study, carried out on 7,087 Italian companies, confirms the growing spread of corporate welfare culture across the country.

The research highlights an increasingly evident connection between welfare levels and business performance: companies that invest more in their people are more attractive, more competitive and more profitable, creating value through employee well-being.

Corporate welfare therefore emerges as a strategic driver for the country’s development, capable of combining economic growth and social progress. Today, the challenge is no longer simply to promote corporate welfare, but to make it increasingly effective, integrated and aligned with people’s real needs.

OMET has once again been recognised as one of Italy’s leading companies in corporate welfare, with a place among the […]

[18,14
