More than 300 students took part in the Tech4Students Day promoted by OMET and CAMA, a major joint industrial open day designed to strengthen the connection between schools and the manufacturing world. Held on Thursday, January 29, 2026, at the OMET and CAMA facilities in Molteno (LC), the event offered students the opportunity to visit both plants, to explore technologies and production processes up close, and to engage directly with industry professionals. The day ended with a special event featuring Luigi Mazzola, former Formula 1 Ferrari engineer, who shared his experience to inspire young people and highlight the values, skills, and opportunities that the industrial sector can offer to future generations.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The event, structured across several moments throughout the day, saw the participation of local institutions, companies, families, the press, and above all many students from various schools in the Lecco area.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a>\u201cThis is the third edition of an event that connects the world of education with the world of work,\u201d said Annalisa Bellante, Vice President of CAMA. \u201cOpening our companies to students means offering an authentic experience of the industrial world. Local businesses represent a wealth of skills, innovation, and work culture that can help young people make more informed choices about their professional future.\u201d<\/p>\n

In the late afternoon, the OMET innovation park hosted a public event that drew dozens of participants: a Tech Talk titled \u201cFrom school desk to the factory of the future\u201d, featuring special guest Luigi Mazzola, who spoke to young people about the importance of self-fulfillment through following one\u2019s passions, engaging the audience with stories from his experience in Formula 1.<\/p>\n

\u201cLuigi Mazzola showed how passion is a central element in building one\u2019s professional future, and how technology is a field full of opportunities,\u201d said Antonio Bartesaghi, CEO of OMET. \u201cThese are the founding values on which our company was built and on which it continues to focus today to achieve its best results. In the manufacturing industry, young people can find high-level career paths based on teamwork, innovation, research, and an international dimension. I wish them fulfillment and happiness in their work, that they always remain motivated and never stop challenging themselves.\u201d<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a>The meeting, moderated by journalist Luca Viscardi, was also an important opportunity for institutional networking on the relationship between education and the world of work.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis meeting is being held in a factory instead of a conference hall\u201d said Marco Campanari, President of Confindustria Lecco and Sondrio, \u201cThis is not a matter of logistics, but a clear message: factories concentrate technologies and skills. And from school to factory there should be a pathway. The whole system should work hard to ensure that this pathway exists and is rich in meaning and content, like this event does\u201d.<\/p>\n

Mauro Piazza, Undersecretary of the Lombardy Region, delivered institutional greetings, emphasizing how such initiatives align with the region\u2019s commitment to guidance, training, and the enhancement of human capital. Raffaele Cesana, representing the Territorial School Office, and Giuseppe Chiarella, Mayor of Molteno, also spoke.<\/p>\n

Created and promoted by OMET and CAMA, Tech4Students Day once again confirms its role as a strategic event for bringing young people closer to the business world and strengthening dialogue between the education system and the local productive fabric.<\/p>\n
